LSU Tigers star Arden Key has declared for the NFL Draft. The Tigers edge rusher announced his decision to forgo his senior season and go to the pros on Thursday morning.

Key battled through an injury-riddled season in 2017 but still had solid production. He picked up 33 tackles, 5.5 TFL and 4.0 sacks. 2016 was his best year, as Key put up 11.0 sacks, 12.5 TFL and 55 total tackles. He also had three passes defended, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery in 2016. Key leaves LSU with 20.0 career sacks, 24.5 TFL, 129 total tackles, four passes defended, three forced fumbles and two recoveries.

Arden is expected to be one of the first pass rushers off the board in the 2018 NFL Draft. SBN’s Mocking the Draft recently issued their latest Mock Draft, in which he was a Top 10 pick. SBN pegged him to go eighth to the Chicago Bears. If that were to happen, Key would join fellow SEC alum Leonard Floyd, who played for the Georgia Bulldogs.

Key will likely be one of a few SEC players taken in the first round and one of a few LSU stars who decide to leave early. Time will tell to see who joins him.
