The Florida Gators made an addition to their 2018 recruiting class on Saturday. The Gators received a commitment from four-star wide receiver, Justin Watkins. Watkins made the announcement of his intention to play for Dan Mullen in Gainesville on his Twitter account.

The Clermont, Florida native is one of the best in a loaded group of wide receivers in 2018. Watkins ranks 21st at his position, and as a four-star talent and Top 150 overall player, that ranking of 21st is nothing to laugh at. At 5-foot-11, 172 lbs., he has good size and frame for his age, and has athletic abilities that may allow him to play either side of the ball.

Watkins was originally committed to the Texas Longhorns, Florida State Seminoles and the LSU Tigers. So, he’s had a bit of a roundabout towards getting to this commitment to Florida.

The Florida Gators now boast the 15th-ranked recruiting class in the nation following Justin Watkins’ commitment on Saturday. They now have nine four-star players in the class. Their class also ranks fifth in the SEC, with the Georgia Bulldogs, Alabama Crimson Tide, Auburn Tigers and LSU Tigers all out in front of them right now.
