We’re in the endgame now.
The final days of the SEC softball season are upon us. Wednesday night is a very light slate — just one game — serving as a precursor to this weekend’s last roundup of SEC games. Positioning will be very important for seeding in next week’s SEC Softball Tournament, and a lot of fun is about to begin.
Tonight’s matchup features the Missouri Tigers and UMKC Kangaroos. Mizzou carries their 29-21 record into the matchup against the Roos, but they’ve lost their last three games. They’d done so by getting swept by Mississippi State, who flipped them on their heels after they’d six in a row. Needless to say, that was a bit demoralizing for the Tigers, who now hope to turn things around as South Carolina looms this weekend.
They will simply have to hope for better results in the circle. The Tigers allowed State to score 24 runs on them this past weekend. While we shouldn’t expect UMKC to be dropping big numbers on them here, holding them down should be reasonable. Especially considering they scored just eight runs over the weekend. That offense needs to also get out of their small funk, and Wednesday night is the perfect opportunity to.
Thursday will be an off day for everybody in the conference, but Friday is when the fun truly begins. Nevertheless, keep your eyes on this one. The game will begin at 7 p.m. ET on SEC Network.
