Frank Martin added a towering presence on Tuesday to his 2020 recruiting class.

The South Carolina Gamecocks received an in-state commit from center Patrick Iriel. Iriel, who attends A C Flora High School right in Columbia, announced his commitment on his Twitter account nearly an hour ago. The news was promptly picked up by 247Sports, among others.

Iriel stands 6-foot-10 and weighs 235 lbs. as he heads into his senior season at A C Flora. He is a three-star recruit via both 247Sports’ standalone service and 247Sports Composite. He’s ranked 317th nationally among all 2020 recruits, 57th among all centers and fourth in the state of South Carolina. The company he keeps there includes P.J. Hall of Dorman HS in Roebuck, Myles Tate of Dorman, who just recently committed to the Butler Bulldogs, and Jalen Deloach of Gray Academy in Columbia.

With Iriel aboard, South Carolina’s one-man recruiting class ranks 54th in the nation and eighth in the SEC. They are chock full of scholarships now going into 2020, with Iriel joining North Carolina Tar Heels transfer Seventh Woods in the fold there alongside a full roster at the moment.
