It’s a good time to be an SEC basketball fan!

It’s Monday, which means there’s a new college basketball AP Poll.

As you may have guessed from the headline, the Tennessee Volunteers are still sitting on top of the poll. After a hard-fought overtime win at Vanderbilt, the Vols took care of business against West Virginia in the Big 12/SEC Challenge to improve to 18-1 and remain in the top spot for the second straight week, garnering 48 first place votes.

The Kentucky Wildcats also moved up a spot to #7 after their wins over Mississippi State and Kansas. John Calipari’s bunch is starting to look like the Kentucky team we’ve grown accustomed to with just one loss since early December.

Following their improbable win over Missouri (in which Mizzou blew a 14 point lead in the final two minutes), and win over Georgia this week, the LSU Tigers found themselves taking one of the biggest jumps of any team in the poll this week, moving up six spots to #19 as they improved to 16-3 on the year and a flawless 6-0 in SEC play.

Finally, the Mississippi State Bulldogs find themselves ranked this week after picking up a home win over Auburn on Saturday. As noted, the Bulldogs lost to Kentucky earlier in the week, but they still managed to maintain their #22 ranking.
