The Auburn Tigers made a splash on Wednesday in the recruiting world. The Tigers got a commitment from three-star cornerback Roger McCreary out of Mobile, Alabama. The soon-to-be Williamson High School graduate announced his commitment Wednesday night on Twitter.

Roger McCreary is listed at 5-foot-11, 178 lbs. through his senior season. That’s about where you want to be as a cornerback as you head into college, although packing on more pounds wouldn’t be the worst thing for him. Currently, McCreary ranks 87th among all cornerbacks in the class of 2018 and 33rd in the talent-rich state of Alabama.
He’s coming off a season in which he had eight interceptions and 14 pass breakups, so he has shown plenty of ball skills. Another attribute that helps him is his speed. According to Auburn Undercover, McCreary’s 40 time is a lofty 4.43. That kind of speed will help you in the SEC. (If ya don’t believe us, just look at the blog name, y’all.)
McCreary is the latest to join a class for the Tigers that ranks as one of the best in the SEC and the country. After McCreary’s commitment, Auburn ranks 10th in the nation and third in the SEC behind the vaunted Georgia Bulldogs and Alabama Crimson Tide. So, pretty good company, no?
