Kentucky faces off with South Carolina: Preview, time, TV schedule, watch online, odds

Kentucky tries to bounce back from sloppy win in week three

The Kentucky Wildcats looked like a Top 25 team in the first two weeks of the season. Not so much last week against Chattanooga, as they only won by five points. The good news for the Wildcats is that the South Carolina Gamecocks are... bad, really bad. Kentucky will look to right the ship today before conference play picks up.

Preview and Pick

Like I stated earlier, the Kentucky we saw last week was not the same Kentucky we saw the first two weeks. Nobody expected this team to be a playoff contender but the way they started the season set hopes pretty high in Lexington.

I’m not going to read too much into last week. I still think this Kentucky team is good, at least for Kentucky’s standards.

They’re fourth in the conference in yards per play and can pick up yards through the air or on the ground. They’re solid up front in the trenches as well.

They won’t do it to the extent that Georgia did last week, but they should be able to do a lot of what they want versus a South Carolina that looks like they will be overmatched against SEC rosters.

There isn’t much to say about South Carolina this year. It’s a true year zero for Shane Beamer. I’m not going to hold anything against them. This is one of those, “Check back in when next year rolls around” teams.

Kentucky has the advantage in about every phase of the game today. I’m a little surprised that the line is only -4.5. I think Kentucky easily covers that.
