The Texas A&M Aggies return to College Station in Week 3. After a climactic encounter with the Colorado Buffaloes, the Aggies escaped Denver with a 2-0 mark on the early season. The win didn’t come without a price though. Quarterback Haynes King went down with an injury, which led to Zach Calzada assuming the role. Now Calzada will face his first full test, as the Aggies host the visiting New Mexico Lobos in an early kick on Saturday.

New Mexico comes into this game 2-0 on the year as well. The Lobos are on the heels of dishing out a 34-23 beating to in-state rival New Mexico State. Terry Wilson, whose name is familiar to many in the SEC after his stint with the Kentucky Wildcats, threw three touchdown passes in that game. Three years ago, Wilson faced the Aggies and threw for 108 yards and a touchdown in a losing effort. His familiarity may be a plus but it will be an uphill battle against the Aggies for certain.
New Mexico’s saving grace may be that A&M has some kinks to work out. They didn’t look good offensively against Colorado at all for all four quarters. With a new QB in Calzada, their best hope will be that the offense still deals with issues. Though it will be a wonder if they can match them round-for-round. With Isaiah Spiller in tow still, the Aggies have a pretty clear advantage. I am not so certain about that big spread, but A&M should be able to comfortably move to 3-0 after this one.
