Tennessee hosts Tennessee Tech Saturday

Will the Vols get back on track?

After a week of speculation, it looks like Joe Milton will be returning to the starting quarterback role for Tennessee this week, per the depth chart the team released. Milton left last week’s loss against Pittsburgh with a leg injury, leading to Virginia Tech transfer Hendon Hooker coming in and throwing two touchdowns and an interception.

A game against an FCS school could be a great way for Milton to recover and get back on track, as Josh Heupel clearly still has faith in the Michigan transfer. The Vols looked good enough offensively last week, but fell short when it mattered, with Hooker’s interception coming on the Pittsburgh 34 yard line with four minutes to go. Tennessee did not get the ball back.

The Vols shouldn’t face much resistance at all against Tennessee Tech, a team with losses to Samford and Furman this year. They will likely be able to get back on track and work out any kinks before next week’s showdown with Florida.
