There have been two Kentucky Wildcats drafted in Wednesday night’s NBA Draft thus far.
The first was Tyrese Maxey, who will head to the Philadelphia 76ers. The second was Immanuel Quickley, who will be heading to the New York Knicks. The Knicks acquired this pick through a trade with the Oklahoma City Thunder, and spent it on the veteran UK guard who will be heading to the bright lights of New York City to join fellow first rounder, Obi Toppin.
Quickley became a well-rounded shooter in his sophomore year with the Wildcats. He was one of the nation’s best FT shooters (.923 FT%) and led all SEC players with a 47.8 percent mark from 3-point land against conference competition. His efforts were extremely prodigious against SEC teams, as he showed he could really hang with the best of ‘em.
As you might expect, he joins a perennially growing laundry list of players who have played under John Calipari and have been drafted in the first round of the NBA Draft.
