Former Kentucky Wildcats guard Tyrese Maxey had to wait a little longer to get drafted than most John Calipari players of the past few years, but considering where he’s going, Maxey is probably fine with it.
The SEC All-Freshman Team guard was taken 21st overall in Wednesday’s NBA Draft by the Philadelphia 76ers.
Maxey averaged 14 points per game in his lone collegiate season, and will likely be able to carve out a nice role under Doc Rivers on a very talented Sixers team.
