Biggest Splashes

Texas A&M and Alabama: Both the Aggies and the Crimson Tide made major impacts in the recruiting world this week. Similarly, they both scored talented wide receivers who are among the best in the 2017 class. Hezekiah Jones and Jerry Jeudy will be heading to College Station and Tuscaloosa next fall and will likely aid both teams from the jump. Amongst their peers, Kevin Sumlin and Nick Saban should be thrilled with the results.

Auburn: Don’t discount the fact that the Tigers made major moves this week too. Auburn picked up verbal commits from both Tray Bishop and Devan Barrett, each of whom are four-star recruits. Barrett is a sensational tailback who will look to follow in the footsteps of many great Auburn backs that have preceded him. Bishop meanwhile is an athlete who will look to find his place when he dons blue and orange next fall but has the talent to make an impact as well. Gus Malzahn’s seat is warming up but he heated up this week in the recruiting world, for sure.

Missouri: It’s hard to argue that #NightAtTheZou wasn’t a rousing success. The Tigers scored not one, not two, not three but four commits in the past week, all of whom attended the event last weekend which featured an additional two commits that Saturday night. Barry Odom hauling in six commits in the past eight days is pretty sensational in its own right so the Tigers must be thrilled going into 2017. They may have missed out on Chase Hayden who opted to go to Arkansas instead of Mizzou but they will have time to try and nab some high-quality players going forward.
