Ranked the 17th best running back in the nation and 35th best player in Florida, Barrett join the Tigers’ 2017 recruiting class—13 players strong now—that boasts highly-touted offensive tackle Calvin Ashley. Barrett is the third commit recruited to play running back in this class along with Alaric Williams and Octavius Matthews.
Barrett would officially announce the news later on his personal Twitter account.

In his junior year at Tampa Catholic, Barrett rushed for 1,891 yards and 21 touchdowns on 187 carries. He averaged 10.1 yards per carry in 13 games.
At 6-foot-1,190 pounds, Barrett has a solid frame to build on. His father, Reggie Barrett, played for the Detroit Lions and Seattle Seahawks, and he measured at 6-foot-4, so scouts aren’t ruling out the probability of growth.
For a player above six feet, though, Barrett has exceptional agility and quickness, in addition to being a runner with top-notch instincts.
Auburn’s 2017 class is ranked 12th nationally and sixth in the SEC behind Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Texas A&M and Tennessee.
