Welcome to the Team Speed Kills 2018 Power Rankings! It’s Week 8, and there was some reshuffling at the top! Let’s find out!

12 ballots were cast by 12 members of the TSK crew. They are all listed below.

As always, off we go!

14. Arkansas Razorbacks

Score: 14 | Last Week: 14 | Last Place Votes: 12

It’s really hard to find anything positive to say about Arkansas after another loss. At least it’s year zero - Robert O’Neill

I can find something positive! They looked pretty good against Ole Miss and appear to be looking better each week. But they are where they are. - Chris Novak

13. Vanderbilt Commodores

Score: 13.0 | Last Week: 12 | 13th Place Votes: 12

Vandy may have lost, but at least we all got to think of coaches that Derek Mason would beat in a fight. The answer? All of them. - Robert O’Neill

Yeah, don’t get in fights with Derek Mason. - Chris Novak

12. Ole Miss Rebels

Score: 11.1 | Last Week: 12 | Highest Vote: 9 | Lowest Vote: 12

At least they didn’t lose to Arkansas. - Chris Novak

I mean...they are 5-2 and their only losses are to Alabama and LSU. Why not 9th, even with their defense? - Julian Mitchell

11. Tennessee Volunteers

Score: 10.4 | Last Week: 13 | Highest Vote: 9 | Lowest Vote: 11

Pruitt’s got these boys playing. They won’t beat ‘Bama, but maybe they’ll look good? - Chris Novak

10. Missouri Tigers

Score: 10.3 | Last Week: 10 | Highest Vote: 8 Lowest Vote: 12

Someone voted Missouri 12th this week. That was me. They have three straight losses and Barry Odom looks incredibly overmatched, Drew Lock looks bad, and it doesn’t get much easier with a powerful Memphis team coming to Columbia this week. - Robert O’Neill

Hopefully for their sake, it’s a happy Homecoming in CoMO. - Chris Novak

9. Auburn Tigers

Score: 8.9 | Last Week: 7 | Highest Vote: 6 | Lowest Vote: 12

Auburn is kind of like Mizzou. The head coach looks overmatched and checked out, the hyped up quarterback looks bad, and the fanbase is getting angrier by the week. - Robert O’Neill

They’ve gone from “good” to “bleh” in a hurry. - Chris Novak

Yes I have them at 12th, but can you really give me reason not to have them there at this very moment? A win against Washington? Nahhh. - Julian Mitchell

8. South Carolina Gamecocks

Score: 8.7 | Last Week: 9 | Highest Vote: 7 | Lowest Vote: 11

Talk about a team who I still have no gauge on... we’re halfway through the season, too. - Chris Novak

I can see Carolina finishing with 5 losses, but I can also see them finishing with 7 losses. - Julian Mitchell

7. Mississippi State Bulldogs

Score: 7.4 | Last Week: 5 | Highest Vote: 3 | Lowest Vote: 9

Time to see what State can do on the road against LSU this weekend. It’s a big opportunity to say the least. - Chris Novak

6. Kentucky Wildcats

Score: 6.0 | Last Week: 5 | Highest Vote: 5 | Lowest Vote: 7

Slip sliiiiiiiiding away... Vanderbilt is next for the Wildcats, and for their sake, they don’t slide down the Power Rankings again! - Chris Novak

If more dimensions weren’t added to the offensive game plan over the bye week, I’m not so sure about a real East run. - Julian Mitchell

5. Texas A&M Aggies

Score: 5.0 | Last Week: 6 | Highest Vote: 4 | Lowest Vote: 7

Like I said last week: A&M is good. Very good. - Chris Novak

They are looking solid and composed (aside from the targeting penalties) right now and I’m a big fan of throwing Tight Ends the ball. Shout out to Jace Sternberger. - Julian Mitchell

4. Florida Gators

Score: 4.3 | Last Week: 3 | Highest Vote: 4 | Lowest Vote: 6

Suddenly the team to watch in the SEC East... despite the loss to Kentucky, they can put Georgia down the chute if they win the WLOCP next week. - Chris Novak

If they beat Georgia...I really don’t see another loss. Florida totally would still make it to Atlanta after finally losing to Kentucky. - Julian Mitchell

3. Georgia Bulldogs

Score: 3.0| Last Week: 2 | Third Place Votes: 12

Whoosh. That wasn’t great at all, Georgia. - Chris Novak

I’ve probably been higher on UGA than most people, so I’m definitely curious to see if this was a “get it out of the system” loss to LSU or if the issues will linger. They got housed in Baton Rouge - Julian Mitchell

2. LSU Tigers

Score: 2.0 | Last Week: 3 | Second Place Votes: 12

LSU’s drubbing of Georgia is one of the most impressive SEC games in quite some time. - Robert O’Neill

Agree. LSU is certainly the second-best team in this conference right now. I feel vindicated after being the high man last week. - Chris Novak

This secondary is ELITE. November 3rd will be not small. - Julian Mitchell

1. Alabama Crimson Tide (12)

Last Week: 1 | First-Place Votes: 12

What do you want me to say here? - Chris Novak

Some potential injury news on the Tua front, but the interception watch continues. - Julian Mitchell
