Georgia flips 5-star defensive lineman Mykel Williams from USC

The Dawgs landed one of the best defensive linemen in the country.

The Georgia Bulldogs scored a coup on Thursday.

The Dawgs flipped a five-star commit away from the USC Trojans. Defensive lineman Mykel Williams tweeted that he’d flipped from USC to UGA, unearthing some more positive vibes in Athens.

Williams is just the latest blue-chipper to commit to the Dawgs. He’s the second five-star to do so, joining previously-committed linebacker Malaki Starks. There are now 13 four- or five-star players in the Dawgs’ 2022 class with the addition of Williams. Suffice it to say, the pipeline is still loaded up and the Dawgs are just going to get better.

Williams is one of the most celebrated players in his class. He ranks 22nd nationally overall, fifth at his position and third in the state of Georgia. He only trails FSU commit Travis Hunter — the top recruit in the country overall — and the above-mentioned Starks in the Peach State.

Georgia’s class ranks second in the SEC and nation behind Alabama.
