The Ole Miss Rebels begin their 2021 season in Atlanta. The Rebels are teed up to face the Louisville Cardinals on Labor Day evening, making for an intriguing ACC-SEC showdown. The Rebs will be playing this game without their head coach though. Lane Kiffin caught COVID-19 and was thus ruled out from traveling with the team. Thankfully, Kiffin is fully vaccinated and is likely to make a full recovery in a more efficient way than if he were not. But anyhow, Kiffin’s absence may or may not make an impact in this one. Time will most certainly tell.

Neither Louisville nor Ole Miss are going to be picked to win their conferences anytime soon. That being said, this will be a very interesting matchup. The factor of no Lane Kiffin will be a storyline to watch throughout this game. How quickly they’re able to adjust without him around will dictate how close this game could be. I think Ole Miss is going to win, but it could become more of a toss-up now.
This also remains interesting because Ole Miss’ defense was so porous last year. Nobody really expects that to change, so is Louisville going to be able to feast off that? They didn’t exactly do too great a job on offense last year. Whether or not that is different this year is yet to be seen, but they likely won’t be tested too much in this game.
This could be a doozy in Atlanta. You might want to check it out!
