The Georgia Bulldogs had a sour end to their season. But, they have an opportunity to end things rather... sweetly, as they’re partaking in the 2020 Sugar Bowl.

The Dawgs, who finished as the runner-up in the SEC, losing the SEC Championship Game to the LSU Tigers, are facing off with another one of the Power 5’s runner ups. That being the Baylor Bears, who fell to the Oklahoma Sooners in the Big 12 Championship Game. The Bears’ only losses this season came to the Sooners, as they were otherwise great against the teams of the Big 12. Matt Rhule has done a fantastic job, and will likely receive a lot of National Coach of the Year consideration, even if things ended a little sourly for them too.

It will be intriguing to see how things play out for the Dawgs here. Given that Jake Fromm and D’Andre Swift, possibly among a few others, may be on the move this season to the NFL, it is a wonder if they’ll play in the bowl game. That, of course, will be decided later on. But from the outset, this has a chance to be a really solid New Year’s Six game. It might not be the conclusion either team wanted this year, but it all still might work out well in the end.
