Haven’t done one of these in a while... let’s get back on track, shall we?

SEC Hoops Schedule

(All times Eastern; all games found on WatchESPN)

Vanderbilt Commodores vs. Kentucky Wildcats (-11.5) — 7 p.m., SEC Network
Florida Gators vs. Alabama Crimson Tide (-3.5) — 7 p.m., ESPN2
Missouri Tigers (-1.5) vs. Mississippi State Bulldogs — 9 p.m., SEC Network

We’ve got a three-game slate ahead of us tonight, with two games going on simultaneously.

Kentucky has been absolutely porous this season. The 2-16 Wildcats are still huge favorites against the Vanderbilt Commodores on Tuesday night though. Vegas has them as 11.5-point favorites, and KenPom projects them to win the matchup by 12. It will be particularly interesting, as the Wildcats haven’t shown an ability to shoot the ball well. While Vandy has their issues, shooting is most certainly not one of them. Especially in comparison to Kentucky. This is an early but very fascinating matchup here given UK’s woes this season.

Florida, meanwhile, travels to Tuscaloosa to face Alabama. The Tide are on the heels of a massive upset win over the Tennessee Volunteers, in which they were double-digit favorites. Now they return home in a spot that, if they aren’t careful, could result in a letdown. Florida narrowly defeated LSU on Saturday, despite giving up three different 20-point performances, including 28 to the great Cameron Thomas. Colin Castleton was awesome for the Gators, and Tre Mann, Scottie Lewis and Anthony Duruji were terrific as well. This could be a very fun one, and it’ll be interesting to see if ‘Bama can keep the good juju going.

Finally, Mizzou takes on Mississippi State. The Tigers are road favorites for the first time this season, and the Bulldogs are home underdogs for the second consecutive game. Xavier Pinson and the Tigers have been terrific this year, and have handled their business. On the heels of a debilitating loss to Tennessee, they won in a rout against Arkansas at Bud Walton Arena back on Saturday. It will be intriguing to see if they can keep those good road vibes going, or if State can spoil their fun by upsetting them. The key matchup here will be on the perimeter, as State has shot the ball particularly well, and Mizzou is in the Top 20 in 3-point defense thus far this season.
