Just days after Ja’Marr Chase announced he would be opting out of the 2020 college football season, LSU Tigers defensive tackle Tyler Shelvin has made the same decision as his teammate.
NEWS: #LSU DT Tyler Shelvin informed the coaching staff today that he plans to opt out of the 2020 season, sources told @SINow.

He's a redshirt junior and is eligible for the 2021 draft.
Shelvin anchored LSU’s defensive line last season, regularly drawing double teams and recording 39 tackles in 14 games. Shelvin’s big impact came as part of LSU’s run-stuffing defense, most notably against Georgia and Oklahoma.
It will be interesting to see if more SEC players eligible for the 2021 NFL Draft choose to forgo the season, as the two LSU players have so far.
