D.K. Metcalf finally heard his name on Friday night.
After waiting a whole two rounds, the Seattle Seahawks drafted the talented Ole Miss Rebels wide receiver with the final pick of the 2nd round in the 2019 NFL Draft. Metcalf joins Russell Wilson and an intriguing crop on offense in the NFC West now, and he’ll certainly have plenty of opportunity to make teams pay for passing over him.
Metcalf is athletically gifted to say the very least, and a damn good football player too. He averaged 18.3 yards per reception at Ole Miss, including 21.9 YPR in a shortened 7-game season last year. He scored 14 touchdowns in his career there, including a career-high seven in 2017. Needless to say, he’s a playmaking deep threat who’ll certainly be fun for Russell Wilson to toss the ball to.
Congrats to D.K., who joined A.J. Brown and Greg Little as Rebels to be drafted on Friday night. Best of luck in Seattle!
