Lonnie Johnson Jr. is off the board. The Kentucky Wildcats cornerback has been selected by the Houston Texans with the 54th overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.
Johnson Jr. had a successful career at UK despite playing only two years. He came away with 64 total tackles, one interception, nine passes defended and a forced fumble in his two years seeing the field.
Kentucky has had two players drafted this year now, as EDGE rusher Josh Allen was taken in the first round by the Jacksonville Jaguars. This is the first time that UK has had multiple draft picks since 2015, and just the seventh time in the 21st century that such an event has taken place.
Best of luck to Lonnie Johnson as he pursues his pro career with the Texans!
