First, the Cleveland Browns acquired Odell Beckham Jr. Now, they’ve acquired another LSU Tigers star, this time via the NFL Draft.
Greedy Williams is finally off the board. The Browns took Williams with the No. 46 pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, giving LSU their second pick in this year’s draft. Williams joins Devin White, who was taken all the way back with the No. 5 selection by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and certainly many believed Greedy would be a first rounder. Evidently it wasn’t in the cards, but he’s certainly not in a terrible landing spot (imagine saying that a few years ago about Cleveland).
Greedy is among the best cover cornerbacks in this year’s NFL Draft, if not the absolute best. He was a proven commodity each and every week in the SEC, and you don’t have to ask too many LSU fans about what they feel about him. Or, hell, probably anybody in the entire conference.
Best of luck to Greedy Williams in Cleveland!
