The Tigers face the, well, Tigers in the bayou.

The big showdown for the LSU Tigers is in three weeks when they travel to Tuscaloosa to take on the Alabama Crimson Tide. But first they take on the other Alabama school this week, who is no slouch themselves.

The Auburn Tigers come in at 6-1 on the season, their only loss coming in The Swamp to the Florida Gators. Bo Nix has looked impressive at times in his freshman season, throwing for 11 touchdowns with five interceptions, but completing just 56 percent of his passes.

He has not, however, ever experienced Death Valley. This is a hostile environment for anybody, especially a true freshman quarterback. The big storyline for Auburn is how Nix handles the environment and constant pressure from the defense.

For LSU, it’s business as usual. Joe Burrow, Ja’Marr Chase and company should just go play their game and feed off the home crowd and they should be fine. The Tigers have a bye week before the big Alabama game so a looking ahead factor shouldn’t be in play like some teams (looking at you, Wisconsin.)

This is the marquee game of the day tomorrow, and it’s the CBS Game of the Week. LSU won last year’s matchup in Jordan-Hare Stadium. Kick-off is set for 2:30 p.m. CT.
