4-star 2019 defensive tackle DeMarvin Leal includes Texas A&M and Alabama in Top 5

The Aggies and Crimson Tide are in the hunt.

The Texas A&M Aggies and Alabama Crimson Tide are still in the hunt for one of 2019’s top defensive tackles.

DeMarvin Leal, a 4-star prospect out of Judson High School in Converse, Texas, revealed his Top 5 on Thursday night. In it were the Aggies and Tide, who were the lone reps from the SEC in the group. The Clemson Tigers, Oklahoma State Cowboys and Texas Longhorns are also in the mix.

247Sports Composite’s rankings have him listed 141st overall in the class of 2019. The senior to be ranks ninth among all defensive tackles. That class is currently headed by five-star Ishmael Sopsher out of Amite, Louisiana. Leal is around the company of Jacob Lacey, a Notre Dame commit and Rashad Cheney, a Georgia commit. To put it simply: Leal’s one of the best around. In the state of Texas, the 6-foot-4, 275-pound Leal ranks 21st in a very deep class.

Leal took an unofficial visit to Texas A&M way back on October 7. He also took a visit way back on March 31, 2017. No such visit has been made to ‘Bama yet, but there’s obviously still plenty of time. He figures to be one of the best D-Tackles in the country, so either Alabama or A&M would reap rewards if they grabbed him.
