Series History
Alabama leads the all-time series, 48-11-2. Ole Miss picked up a victory last time they visited Tuscaloosa, though.
Following a 27-16 loss to the Cal Golden Bears in Berkeley, Ole Miss opens SEC play with quite the daunting task, as they venture down to Tuscaloosa to square off with Nick Saban and the Alabama Crimson Tide.
‘Bama, as you may remember, opened SEC play by demolishing Vanderbilt last week to the tune of 59-0 in Nashville.
There’s really no reason to believe this game will be too different from that one. Alabama is clearly the better team and should handle Ole Miss.
However, it’s worth noting Ole Miss has had a fairly good offense so far this year, especially in its two victories. Shea Patterson and AJ Brown have been quite the connection so far for the Rebels.
On the flip side, the Crimson Tide has had a couple hiccups in their secondary throughout the year. It’s not something that could be seen as alarming for this game, but Ole Miss passes a ton, and it’s possible that they’re able to at least get on the board.
Again, though, it really won’t matter. Alabama should breeze to 5-0. They’re the best team in the nation, and it’s not even all that close. Ole Miss is good, but ‘Bama is in another league.
Prediction: Alabama 56, Ole Miss 21
