Lots went down on the diamond on Tuesday, and the Missouri Tigers are once again leading the way. Mizzou upped their win streak to 20 (!) games with their 11-8 victory over Little Rock, which is currently the longest winning streak in the nation. The Tigers’ unprecedented success is by far the biggest story going in the SEC, and they’ll have a chance to keep it going later this week against the Arkansas Razorbacks.
Elsewhere, 24th-ranked Auburn kept their winning ways up with a 7-4 victory over Georgia Tech. These Tigers are rolling too as they’ve won eight in a row dating back to March 11th and are 9-1 in their last 10 games dating back to March 8. We’ll see them later this week in a three-game set against the Georgia Bulldogs out in Athens. Those aforementioned Bulldogs scored a 9-6 victory over Kennesaw State on Tuesday.
The Ole Miss Rebels fell to rival Memphis in 11 innings, as the 14th-ranked Rebs dropped the game 2-1. Ole Miss scored a run in the ninth to force extra innings but thanks to an RBI single by Trent Turner in the 11th frame, the Tigers were able to prevail. The Rebels, now 14-7, will turn their attention towards Kentucky as they start a three game set in Lexington on Thursday.
Speaking of Kentucky, the 25th-ranked Wildcats kept it moving with a 4-3 victory over WKU. Fellow ranked squad Texas A&m, the 23rd-ranked team in the nation, prevailed 8-5 over in-state rival Rice. 12th-ranked Florida rebounded off their surprising losses to Auburn with a hard fought, 9-8 win over Stetson in 11 innings. And Alabama was able to fend off UAB, as the Tide won 4-1.
The only other team to take the field on Tuesday was Mississippi State, and the Bulldogs dropped one to Southern Miss, as the Golden Eagles won 7-5. A late rally for the Bulldogs was not enough, as despite scoring three in the eighth, they were closed out 1-2-3 in the ninth to end any and all threats.

Wednesday’s schedule doesn’t provide too much intrigue in the way of major matchups. The lone ranked teams in action - South Carolina and LSU - each face unranked opponents in the forms of Charleston Southern and SE Louisiana, whom each team should be able to beat. Tennessee will take the field against Marshall and Vanderbilt plays fellow Nashville resident Belmont in a “road game.” Arkansas, meanwhile, looks to win their sixth game in a row against New Orleans in a tune-up before their series against white-hot Mizzou.
