The Auburn Tigers will be without two starters and their backup quarterback for the opener vs. Georgia Southern Saturday night. Bryan Matthews reported on Auburn’s Rivals.com site that Kamryn Pettway, Sean White and Kyle Davis were suspended for the 2017 season opener.

Combing through, it seems that these suspensions were looming and that rumors were spreading around Auburn for some time now. Pettway of course is one of Auburn’s best running backs along with Kerryon Johnson. Davis, meanwhile, is one of the Tigers’ wide receivers, who figured to make an impact if he was in the lineup.
White’s status is a bit less of a hangup, as Jarrett Stidham will be getting the nod under center. But, if something were to happen to Stidham, it would make things a little more murky for Gus Malzahn.
No reason for the suspension was provided.
