Arkansas and Tennessee Make the Biggest Jumps this week...
After both Arkansas and Tennessee looked about as good as a Top Tier Sun Belt team, both teams bounced back in a HUGE way this week. Perhaps the biggest win was Arkansas defeating the 15th Ranked TCU Horned Frogs in a wild 41-38 2OT game in which Arkansas was the heavy underdog. Tennessee also got a nice win against a okay Virginia Tech team by a final of 45-24. Both Arkansas and Tennessee are the biggest jumpers in this week poll. Among the biggest losers? South Carolina, Kentucky and Georgia all fall this week after losses (or 2 point wins against terrible FCS teams). Enough talking though! Here is the SEC Power Rankings for Week 3!
#1 Alabama Crimson Tide (2-0)
Western Kentucky finished in the Top 25 last year. Bama don't care as they roll over the Hilltoppers 38-10...
#2 Texas A&M Aggies (2-0)
Here are the Aggies again. Early in the year they always sit around this spot. Can they keep up the level they are playing at though?
#3 Ole Miss Rebels (1-1)
A Nice win over a really smart team. Now the showdown with Alabama awaits...
#4 Arkansas Razorbacks (2-0)
Arkansas just got perhaps the biggest win so far in this young season for the SEC, on the road no less...
#5 Tennessee Volunteers (2-0)
While Virginia Tech did help the Vols out with 5 turnovers, the Vols took full advantage and really put a big whupping on the Hokies...
#6 Florida Gators (2-0)
They beat perhaps the worst team in the SEC 45-7. I mean, I can't move you up until you beat Tennessee yet Gators...
#7 Auburn Tigers (1-1)
The Offense looked really good. But then again, they played Arkansas State. We will see if this team is for real against Texas A&M...
#8 Georgia Bulldogs (2-0)
EWWWW...that was bad. They won, but really, there is no excuse for this one. Bulldogs fall 6 spots until they reprove themselves against tougher competition...
#9 LSU Tigers (1-1)
It feels weird to put LSU this low, but they just haven't looked good at all this year...
#10 Missouri Tigers (1-1)
Well that was a good win. It was against Eastern Michigan, but the Tigers did show that they at least can score some points at times...
#11 Vanderbilt Commodores (1-1)
Vanderbilt recovered nicely against Middle Tennessee State. You have to wonder if that loss to South Carolina may keep them from a bowl though...
#12 Mississippi St. Bulldogs (1-1)
They beat South Carolina, but I am going to penalize them the rest of the year for losing to South Alabama. Sorry Bulldog fans...
#13 South Carolina Gamecocks (1-1)
South Carolina returned to their usual self with that terrible loss to the Bulldogs of Mississippi State...
#14 Kentucky Wildcats (0-2)
The only team in the SEC without a win. Basketball Season coming soon Kentucky fans!!!
