Mizzou wrestler J’Den Cox is one of the best athletes in the United States and will soon represent his country at the 2016 Summer Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro next month. Unfortunately, Cox is facing a troubling situation in which he is in need of funds for both training expenses as well as a need to get his family to Rio to see him grapple with the best of them.
Word has spread around the wrestling world and one of the biggest faces around decided to lend a helping hand to Cox and his efforts on Thursday afternoon. Who? None other than Kurt Angle.
Angle of course won an Olympic Gold medal - with a broken freakin’ neck - at the 1996 Summer Games in Atlanta. He would go on to have a successful pro wrestling career in WWE and TNA and currently still wrestles on the independent scene.
To have one of the biggest faces in both the amateur wrestling and professional wrestling/sports entertainment worlds endorse and effort the cause is pretty phenomenal to say the very least, and hopefully Angle’s efforts on Thursday will assist Cox in achieving his goals.
