Auburn Softball advances to the 2016 Women's College World Series

Marvin Gentry-USA TODAY Sports

One year after making their first appearance in the Women's College World Series, the Auburn Tigers have gone back-to-back.

The Tigers rallied back furiously and won a decisive Game 3 against the Arizona Wildcats after evening the series earlier on Sunday afternoon. As a result, Auburn joins Alabama, Georgia and LSU as the SEC's representatives in the WCWS in Oklahoma City.

Kasey Cooper & Co. had a tremendous season and this puts a cap on it to say the least. The Tigers, much like many of the SEC teams left in the field with the exception of Alabama, will be chasing their first-ever national championship in softball. Should they, or any of the other three teams win, it will mean that the conference has housed the national champion in softball in four of the last five years after the Crimson Tide won in 2012 and the Florida Gators won in both 2014 and 2015.

Congrats to Auburn!
