With Texas A&M's 9-8 loss in nine innings to Louisiana Lafayette, the Aggies' 2016 softball season has come to an end.

The Aggies finish the year with a very proud mark of 39-20 after a rather productive season in College Station that saw them make the NCAA Tournament for the 15th straight season dating back to 2002 and 16th time in the 21st century, with the lone miss being in 2001.

They were not able to make the WCWS, meaning their drought extends as they have not reached the WCWS since 2008 when they won the Big 12 Conference regular season and tournament titles.

Best of luck goes to A&M next season after a great year this time around.
