LSU Softball advances to the 2016 NCAA Super Regionals

Marvin Gentry-USA TODAY Sports

The LSU Tigers have made it to the 2016 NCAA Super Regionals.

The Tigers will make their fifth appearance in the Super Regionals after their 2-0 victory over Arizona State on Sunday afternoon. Sahvanna Jaquish did the damage herself, scoring an unearned run in the second inning and then plated a run on a sacrifice in the fifth that scored Sandra Simmons from third base.

They will now look to make two consecutive appearances in the Women's College World Series for what would be the first time in program history after making it there in 2015. If they do, it would mark the sixth overall appearance in the WCWS for LSU.

Congrats to LSU!
