South Carolina offensive tackle Brandon Shell has been selected by the New York Jets in the 2016 NFL Draft.
Shell heads to New York after being taken with the No. 158 overall pick, becoming the second player to join the Jets from the SEC after Jordan Jenkins from the Georgia Bulldogs was taken earlier in the draft. Shell is the second Gamecock to be taken on Saturday after Pharoh Cooper went with the No. 117 overall pick by the LA Rams.
Shell is a nephew of Pro Football Hall of Famer Art Shell and is stacked up at 6-foot-5, 324 pounds. He was expected to be a Day 3 selection and sure enough, Shell goes to the Jets on Day 3.
Congrats to Shell and good luck at the next level!
