Eight softball squads from the SEC are featured in the latest edition of the NFCA Top 25 rankings.
Oklahoma was a unanimous #1, and the Pac-12’s UCLA Bruins stand at #2 at the moment, giving way to the Florida Gators to sit at #3. The Gators have enjoyed lots of success this year, as they sit 32-6 on the season thus far. Trailing them in the Top 5 are #4 Washington and then #5 Alabama. The Crimson Tide stand 33-7 on the season and give the SEC two Top 5 squads this week.
After Oregon and Florida State comes Arkansas, who at 36-5 on the year sit #8 on the season. The SEC boasts three Top 10 teams, but it doesn’t stop there. At #14 are the 30-10 Kentucky Wildcats, and then from 17-19 lie three SEC teams. LSU, Mizzou, and Tennessee represent those spots, and then Georgia rounds us out this week at #21.
This weekend, we’ve got four Top 25 matchups in the conference. Tennessee and Georgia will square off, while Mizzou and Arkansas are set to do battle, too. Elsewhere, we’ve got LSU and Kentucky mixing it up, and Alabama plays a nonconference matchup against #13 Louisiana.
