Welcome to our third edition of Power Rankings for the 2019 season!

We missed out on last week, but fear not. This week’s edition of power rankings, we nearly got perfect attendance! 11 of our staff members were able to chip in votes for the Power Rankings. And here they are!

14. Arkansas Razorbacks

Average: 13.55 | Highest Vote: 13th | Lowest Vote: 14th

“You lose to San Jose State, you go to last place. I don’t make the rules.” - Chris Novak

“It’s a complete rebuild. Just keep pushing.” - Julian Mitchell

13. Tennessee Volunteers

Average: 13.45 | Highest Vote: 13th | Lowest Vote: 14th

“At... least they got a win two weeks ago?” - Chris Novak

“At least a loss isn’t in the cards this weekend.” - Julian Mitchell

12. Vanderbilt Commodores

Average: 11.82 | Highest Vote: 11th | Lowest Vote: 12th

“Vandy is near the bottom here, but they’re not as bad as Arkansas or Tennessee. I put them 11th, quite honestly.” - Chris Novak

“For a little bit against LSU, I thought Vandy could actually have a chance. The offense looked good!” - Robert O’Neill

11. South Carolina Gamecocks

Average: 10.82 | Highest Vote: 10th | Lowest Vote: 12th

“South Carolina had a very poor showing after having a pretty decent outing against Alabama. So, I had them 12th for that reason.” - Chris Novak

“If the Gamecocks lose to Kentucky again on Saturday, I think the only thing that saves Muschamp is beating Clemson in November.” - Julian Mitchell

10. Ole Miss Rebels

Average: 10.36 | Highest Vote: 10th | Lowest Vote: 11th

“Ole Miss... doesn’t seem all that fun. Now they get Bama this week. That’s not fun either!” - Chris Novak

“Ole Miss may or may not have gotten jobbed against Cal, but the fact is, they didn’t look good for 80% of the game anyway” - Robert O’Neill

9. Kentucky Wildcats

Average: 9.00 | 9th Place Votes: 11

“Kentucky is not worst in the SEC bad, but they’re probably the worst of the teams in the middle of the pack.” - Chris Novak

“Was the loss to Mississippi State a hangover from yet another Florida heartbreaker? We’ll see vs. South Carolina.” - Julian Mitchell

8. Mississippi State Bulldogs

Average: 7.55 | Highest Vote: 7th | Lowest Vote: 8th

“The defense has been a disappointment, but such is life when you lose players like Montez Sweat.” - Chris Novak

7. Missouri Tigers

Average: 7.45 | Highest Vote: 7th | Lowest Vote: 8th

“I must give credit where it’s due: Mizzou has looked much better since the Week 1 disaster against the Wyoming Cowboys.” - Chris Novak

“Kelly Bryant struggled in the first half, but looked good once he figured it out.” - Robert O’Neill

6. Texas A&M Aggies

Average: 6.00 | 6th Place Votes: 11

“I’m starting to become less sold on the Aggies than I was going into the season.” - Chris Novak

“They’ll eventually win a big one, but they’ll still perennially “good” and not great until they prove us otherwise.” - Julian Mitchell

5. Florida Gators

Average: 5.00 | 5th Place Votes: 11

“I’m not sure if Florida is all that legit but with an undefeated record through the first few weeks, I can’t really do anything but put them up here.” - Chris Novak

4. Auburn Tigers

Average: 4.00 | 4th Place Votes: 11

“Auburn looks damn good right now. We’ll see how Nix plays the rest of the way, but for right now, they are a pretty damn good team.” - Chris Novak

“Still hard to gauge just how high this team’s ceiling is, but they are now real contenders. Gus calling plays is a scary thing for opponents.” - Julian Mitchell

3. Georgia Bulldogs

Average: 2.73 | Highest Vote: 2nd | Lowest Vote: 3rd

“I know how talented UGA is. Which is what made Saturday’s game against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish all the more disappointing to watch.” - Chris Novak

“Didn’t do enough against ND to move to back to #2 in my rankings, but that doesn’t take away from the quality of the win. They can beat teams through sheer physicality, but we’ll need to see more offensive risks if they want to win a Natty.” - Julian Mitchell

2. LSU Tigers

Average: 2.27 | Highest Vote: 2nd | Lowest Vote: 3rd

“LSU is the threat to Alabama this year.” - Chris Novak

“Still getting used to this Twilight Zone offense. Less than 200 on the ground vs. Vandy, but 400+ passing?” - Julian Mitchell

1. Alabama Crimson Tide (11)

Average: 1.00 | First-Place Votes: 13 | Last Week: 1

“Bama is certainly Bama.” - Chris Novak
