Najee Harris is heading to Pittsburgh.
The Alabama Crimson Tide running back was just unsurprisingly selected 24th overall by the Pittsburgh Steelers on Thursday night. Jones joins fellow ‘Bama draftees Jaylen Waddle, Patrick Surtain II, DeVonta Smith, Mac Jones, and Alex Leatherwood as first-round picks in this year’s NFL Draft. He’s the 25th player from ‘Bama to have been picked in Round 1 since 2014, a list that may well grow further as the night progresses.
The Steelers had a hole to fill at running back. They may very well have picked the best running back in the Draft to fill that previously absent void. Najee can run, he can play well in the passing game, he can hurdle dudes, he can do it all. Harris should provide a very strong complement in the Steeler offense this coming season and beyond. One shouldn’t be surprised if Najee becomes a Pittsburgh staple for years to come.
