Naturally, the Vanderbilt Commodores and UConn Huskies produced an entertaining affair last night. The ‘Dores snapped an eight-game home losing streak with their 30-28 victory. The win pushes them to 2-4 on the year, while the lowly Huskies dropped to 2-4.

Steven Krajewski gave UConn hope in the final minutes of the game. After coming into the game in relief, Krajewski picked up a 17-yard rushing TD with 1:07 remaining. UConn, though, allowed for Vanderbilt to drive down the field afterward. That drive set up the game-winning field goal by Joseph Bulovas, putting an end to their hopes.

After a scoreless third quarter, the fourth was pretty wild. 25 points were scored in total, including three touchdowns, two of which went to the Huskies.

There’s not too much else to say other than, “Thank goodness Vanderbilt didn’t drop that one.” But it should be noted that it’s good to see that both teams played in a fun one on Saturday. Especially since both have been plagued with issues and defeats all season long.

Vandy travels to Gainesville next week for a matchup with the Florida Gators.
