South Carolina vs. Kentucky 2020: Time, TV channel, watch online, odds

The Gamecocks and Wildcats do battle on Saturday.

NCAA Football: South Carolina at Kentucky Mark Zerof-USA TODAY Sports

The South Carolina Gamecocks and Kentucky Wildcats have both trended down this season. The Gamecocks and Wildcats are both posting sub-.500 records entering play on Saturday with no pathway to get to an even mark. So at this point, it’s all about salvaging and trying to end on a high note for these teams.

Kentucky’s offense should in all likelihood have a field day with South Carolina’s run defense. Teams have been feasting all season on the Gamecocks. Though they had turned it around ever so briefly, they gave up 332 yards on 7.2 yards per carry a week ago to the Georgia Bulldogs. Kentucky is coming off two of their worser performances on the ground, but they have a real shot to get right against the Gamecocks this time around.

Passing won’t be much of a factor in this game for the Wildcats. It isn’t their specialty, but it will be interesting to see how SC does through the air. They tossed 513 yards against Ole Miss, but followed that up with 2013 and 139 in their last two games. Kentucky’s pass defense has been getting worse by the week it seems. They’ve given up 227, 283 and 314 yards through the air in their last three games respectively. So which trend will continue: South Carolina’s struggles through the air, or Kentucky’s issues defending the pass?

As pointed out, it seems like neither side has much to play for in this game but pride. That could make for a bit of a fascinating affair. South Carolina will be auditioning for whomever their new head coach will be. Kentucky, meanwhile, is trying to bounce back following a disappointing effort this time around that followed some pretty promising years in Lexington. Who will win this battle of wit? Well, time will soon tell.
