The Ole Miss Rebels have had plenty of talented wide receivers over the past few years. Another one is coming down the pipe, as we learned on Monday. Dannis Jackson, a 4-star talent out of nearby Sumral, Mississippi, committed to the Rebels, joining Matt Luke’s 2019 recruiting class. The talented wideout announced his commitment on Twitter.

Jackson was the second commit of the day for the Rebels, joining 3-star outside linebacker Eric Jeffries. And much like Jackson, Jeffries is a native of Mississippi as well. Right in town in Oxford, to boot. Jackson and Jeffries coming aboard means Ole Miss has 16 recruits from Mississippi, so it’s safe to say they’re prioritizing in-state recruits right now.
Jackson was originally committed to the Rebels’ rivals, the Mississippi State Bulldogs, but opted to flip to Ole Miss.
Dannis Jackson is one of the premier receivers in the 2019 recruiting class. He currently ranks 19th among all wideouts in 2019, just landing inside the Top 20. The four-star receiver is also ranked 111th in the nation and is a Top 10 talent in Mississippi. He sits seventh among all recruits in the state. With him in tow, Ole Miss has the 7th ranked recruit in Mississippi, the 4th in ILB Diwun Black and the 2nd in RB Jerrion Ealy. They also have the top JUCO recruit in Mississippi in Sam Williams of Northeast Mississippi CC.
After landing Jackson (and, earlier, Jeffries) Ole Miss’ class is up to 25 commits in 2019. Their class ranks 14th in the nation and 6th in the SEC.
