The Ole Miss Rebels landed two commits on Monday for their Class of 2019. Both from Mississippi, the first came from right in town in Oxford. Eric Jeffries, an outside linebacker who currently attends Lafayette High School, announced his commitment to Matt Luke and the Rebels. Jeffries made the announcement on Twitter.

Jeffries is listed at 6-foot-3, 228 lbs. as he enters his senior season at Lafayette HS. He currently ranks 1,457th overall on 247Sports’ standalone rankings, 102nd among all outside linebackers and 41st in the state of Mississippi. 247Sports Composite does not have him listed anywhere at this juncture.
Prior to his commitment, Jeffries held an offer from the Louisiana Ragin Cajuns and had interest from LSU, Mississippi State and Texas. It felt like a longshot for basically everyone else though, as staying home looked to be the end result for him. In the end, that’s exactly what happened.
After landing Jeffries (and, later, Dannis Jackson) Ole Miss’ class is up to 25 commits in 2019. Their class ranks 14th in the nation and 6th in the SEC.
