2018 linebacker David Reese commits to Florida

The Gators have pulled in yet another 2018 recruit.

Fort Pierce’s David Reese, a class of 2018 outside linebacker, has just committed to Florida.

Reese, who announced the commitment on his personal Twitter account, is the most recent player to commit to the Gators’ 2018 class, as it’s now ballooned up to 15 commits after their torrid run last week.

The 6-foot-3, 213-pound outside linebacker attends Vero Beach High School along the east coast of The Sunshine State. Originally an attendee of Fort Pierce Central High School, Reese is ranked 69th among all Sunshine State recruits for 2018. He’s listed at 31st overall among all outside linebackers and 444th overall in America.

The Gators were competing with Miami (FL), Alabama and others for Reese’s services, and it’s no doubt another big win for head coach Jim McElwain who continues to wheel and deal. Their class didn’t make any jump from 11th in the country and 3rd in the SEC, but they continue to make waves towards getting their first Top 10 recruiting class since 2014.
