Montana Fouts made history on Friday night!

The Alabama Crimson Tide hurler dazzled versus UCLA, tossing a perfect game to down the Bruins in a 6-0 result. Fouts’ perfect game was the first at the Women’s College World Series since the year 2000. So, those who have traveled to OKC have not only seen James Madison’s miracle run play out, but they also saw a perfecto be tossed as well.

Fouts put Bruin hitters in a tizzy all night long. En route to her perfect game, she struck out 14 of the 21 batters she faced. She induced five groundouts and only two flyouts all evening. This performance comes a night after Fouts tossed a two-hit complete game, with a career-high 16 strikeouts against Arizona. Needless to say, Montana has been a force to be reckoned with in the first two games of Alabama’s run in the WCWS.

What does she have for an encore? We’ll find out the next time she sees the circle. Which could well be on Sunday afternoon. The Tide awaits the events of Saturday’s action, in which the losers bracket will play itself out.
