LSU vs. Vanderbilt score: Tigers stay undefeated, Commodores remain winless

Joe Burrow makes school history by throwing for six touchdowns to keep the Tigers undefeated.

Joe Burrow and the LSU Tigers had one hell of a game on Saturday against the Vanderbilt Commodores. The Tigers quarterback got his name in the school record book, throwing for six touchdowns, four to receiver Ja’Marr Chase, with 398 passing yards, leading LSU to romp over Vanderbilt, 66-38.

Burrow completed 25 of his 34 passes in the game. Clyde Edwards-Helaire led the Tigers in rushing with 106 yards in 14 carries and one touchdown. Burrow’s “Robin” to his “Batman”, Ja’Marr Chase, had 10 receptions for 229 receiving yards along with four touchdowns.

Vanderbilt’s quarterback, Riley Neal, went 15-for-31 in completion with a touchdown and one interception. Ke’Shawn Vaughn led the Commodores in rushing with 130 yards on 20 carries and two touchdowns. Kalija Lipscomb led receivers with 68 yards with five receptions and one touchdown.

Vandy’s defense gave up 599 total yards versus LSU’s 374 total yards given up. The Tigers remain undefeated going into their bye week. Vanderbilt is still winless but will have an opportunity to turn things around next week against Northern Illinois.
