To anyone following the recruitment of 4-star wide receiver Jalen Preston, it would have been shocking if his announcement earlier this afternoon was that he would be playing for anyone but Texas A&M.
Alas, the Aggies have been the frontrunner to land Preston for some time, and today, they did indeed seal the deal.
Preston, a Texas native, is the 6th-best wide receiver in the Lone Star State in the 2018 class, making him the 11th-best in the nation in that same category, according to 247Sports.
In order to get Preston on their team, the Aggies had to beat out a few other SEC schools that made the recruit’s top six, including both the LSU Tigers and Ole Miss Rebels. However, most anticipated that Preston would end up an Aggie, as 14/14 Crystal Ball prognosticators thought that he would settle on College Station as his home for the next few years.

For Texas A&M, Preston is the 15th commit in a strong 2018 recruiting class that is ranked in the top 15 in the country.
