For only the ninth time in program history, the South Carolina Gamecocks are in the NCAA Tournament.
The Gamecocks were revealed as one of the 68 participants in the 2017 NCAA Tourney on Selection Sunday and were pegged as a 7 seed in the East Region.
South Carolina hasn’t made the field since the year 2004 and this only marks the second time in the 21st century that they’ve been dancing. Frank Martin’s bunch finished the year 22-10 and were losers of six of their last nine games, but will still be partaking in the festivities.
They’ll open up shop against the Marquette Golden Eagles in Greenville, South Carolina.
