The South Carolina Gamecocks may not have the most impressive record in college football this season, but their game today against the Kentucky Wildcats will be theirs to lose. Currently, SC stands at 2-1 with wins over ECU and Vanderbilt, and a two-score loss to Mississippi State. Kentucky on the other hand, has struggled to get anything going this season. As of now, The Wildcats sit at 1-2 with their only win coming from 20-point victory over New Mexico State that lies in the shadows of two devastating losses to Florida and Southern Miss.
If Kentucky is going to have any success today it will be absolutely critical that they show up on both offense and defense. At this time, Kentucky has allowed every team they've played this season to score over 40 points on them. In their only victory, they had to score 62 points to combat the 42 points New Mexico State scored. So if Kentucky wants to take this one home, they will need to stop the bleeding on defense to allow their offense the chance to put some unanswered points on the board. Otherwise, it will be a long game for the Wildcats.
Additionally, for South Carolina, it is a must that they keep the score low. Don't allow Kentucky to get moving on offense and keep putting up the high numbers that UK's defense has allowed all season. They are going to be able to score on the Wildcats; it's just a matter of if they let them score as well.
