My name is Chris Dougherty. I've covered college football, the NFL, and the NFL Draft for roughly seven years now. I have had the privilege of writing for a few premiere national media outlets such as USA Today, Athlon Sports, 247Sports, and also here at SBNation. Over the course of the last seven years, I have discovered that no matter what you write, a lot of people are going to hate you for it, and that's fine with me. I probably hate your team, and you should get used to it.
Team Speed Kills gives me an opportunity to broaden my personal horizons and challenge myself in front of a bigger, more dedicated audience. The SEC is no joke, and I'm sure the readers here will prove that to me. I've been told to kill myself, among other things purely based off of the articles I've written, so I'm not too worried that you'll call for my hanging when I tell you that Nick Saban is a coward, and is basically the John Calipari of college football.
I love recruiting. My passion for recruiting was birthed from my passion for covering the NFL draft for so many years. It's such an interesting dynamic, seeing a kid literally grow up right in front of your eyes from the age of 16 through his early 20's when he enters the NFL Draft. I hope to bring some of my recruiting knowledge to the site as well. I've been a National Recruiting Crystal Ball Analyst for 247Sports since 2013, and have been ranked in the final Top-100 the last two seasons.
I'm a lifelong Notre Dame fan, but if I had to pick an SEC team to root for, I'd more than likely lay my life down for Les Miles and the LSU Tigers. Other than that, I'd certainly root for any team that's playing Alabama, because I hate them with every fiber in my soul.
At the end of the day, I'm here to have a lot of fun, provide quality football content, and engage with what I already know is a great community here at TSK. I want to thank Chris for giving me the opportunity to be a part of something special, and I look forward to getting started.
