Erich Hilkert joins Team Speed Kills following years of writing about sports for newspapers.
He graduated from the University of Alabama with a M.A. in Community Journalism in 2012. While attending school, he wrote for the school newspaper, The Crimson White, as well as The Tuscaloosa News. His first paid job was as an intern for the sports department at The Anniston Star. Most recently, he served as a general assignment reporter for The Lake Chelan Mirror.
Hailing from the state of Georgia, Hilkert has family ties to the Georgia Bulldogs, but if cheering at home, his alma mater takes precedence. However, after years of reporting, he tends to take the Swiss approach, appreciating the spectacle of sports while trying to remain nonpartisan. Football at the top of the list as far as sports interests are concerned, but he enjoys covering all sports.
He is excited for the opportunity to write about sports once again.
