NFL Draft 2016: Stephen Weatherly selected by the Minnesota Vikings

Vandy is on the board!

Jim Dedmon-USA TODAY Sports

Vanderbilt Commodores defensive end Stephen Weatherly has been picked 227th overall by the Minnesota Vikings!

The Commodores make their first appearance in the 2016 NFL Draft and their first since 2014 as well after going 0-for in last season's edition of the draft. Weatherly is the first defensive player drafted from the Commodores since Andre Hal two years ago and the first defensive lineman since Tim Fugger back in 2012.

Weatherly picked up 11.5 sacks in three years with Vanderbilt and 116 total tackles.

Congrats to Weatherly and best of luck in the NFL!
