Troubling news is afoot in Columbia, Missouri again. The Mizzou Tigers have confirmed that defensive end Terry Beckner, Jr. and linebacker Michael Scherer both tore their ACLs and will be out for the remainder of the 2016 college football season.

Both players suffered the injuries over the weekend in the Tigers’ loss to Middle Tennessee. This marks the second year in a row that Beckner Jr., a former five-star recruit, has torn his ACL. Per Barry Odom, these injuries mean that Scherer’s Mizzou football career is over and that Beckner Jr. is expected to be back for the 2017 season.

Suffice it to say, when it rains, it pours. This is tough news to swallow for Missouri, who has looked listless at times this year. The hills just got much tougher to climb without two of their defensive standouts and they were already looking porous on defense to begin with.
